NEW WOMAN’S BUSINESS MAGAZINE HITS WINNIPEG
The premiere Womanition Magazine is being distributed throughout Winnipeg this week. When you are out grocery shopping or doing some banking, be sure to keep your eyes open for the bright fuschia cover and pick up your FREE copy to learn about the dynamic business women featured in the debut edition.
Womanition is the brain child of Edmonton’s Publisher and Owner, Dorothy Briggs. Womanition is an annual publication which has been running successfully in Edmonton, Calgary, Lethbridge, Red Deer and Fort McMurrray for a few years. Vancouver is set to launch later this year and now, Winnipeg can be added to this growing list of Canadian cities.
Please allow me to share the article that I have written in the magazine:

LIFE IS WHAT YOU MAKE IT
Success comes in many sizes, shapes and colours. Do you know what looks best on you?
I believe in the words of John Gray, “The secret of success is to be true to yourself and to continue to want more”.
Everyday we experience new challenges , we change and we grow. Our life is not stagnant, it is constant. If we get stuck in one place for too long, we run the risk of getting left behind.
When I was 18, I thought that I had my life all figured out. I would go to University, study to become a psychologist, open my own practice out of my home and make the world a better place.
At the age of 21, I got side-tracked. I was enjoying a fast-paced and lucrative career in marketing and sales. When the opportunity to move into management presented itself, I jumped in with both feet. I was a mover and a shaker! I was climbing the corporate ladder at a very fast pace and loving it!
Was I successful? By all accounts, yes. But slowly, over the next 26 years, things started to change. I didn’t get the same satisfaction and fulfillment in my work that I once did. I fought this discontent for a number of years, but eventually I had to listen. I felt confused. Why was I not happy? What more could I possibly want?
Searching for direction and answers, I discovered a profession that was just becoming mainstream called “Life Coaching”. It sounded intriguing. After doing some research I decided to hire a life coach to help me to achieve clarity and focus in my life and to help guide me through this change.
With the help of my coach I was able to achieve clarity around why I was no longer happy in my career that I had enjoyed for so many years. I started to discover that I was changing and with that , my idea of success was also changing. I no longer cared about status, recognition and money. What I wanted more of was to help people achieve their potential and to have more freedom and flexibility.
In my journey to discover my new path I kept on being drawn to what I wanted to do when I was 18 – to help others and to have an office in my home. I had experienced coaching and found it very beneficial; I had highly developed skills in communication, training and development. It was getting clearer.
It was a slow and sometimes difficult process to get my training and set up my business. But like a puzzle, the pieces were all fitting together. Five years later I am still blessed to help others discover what they want more of and to hold them accountable to take weekly steps to be all that they can be. I have stayed true to myself and continue to want more. I am also proud to say, I am successful. What do you want more of?

And….along the theme of what’s new for spring, I proudly introduce to you my husbands and my new company, Raven’s Custom Keepsakes (www.ravenscustomkeepsakes.com). Clyde is gearing up for retirement from his career, so he wanted to find something to do so that we could spend more time together. Our company was born out of Clyde’s love of sports memorabilia collecting and his insane attention to details. Me, I love the business end. Our roles are defined and together, we are proud to have the company up and running.
Our first public display of our products will be at our come and go open house, which you are invited to! Here are the details:

Sun. May 15 – 1pm – 4pm
Our house – 62 Longford Ave. Wpg. R2N 1T1
Please come for a short visit – I would love for you to drop by! If you can’t make it, please check out our web site, especially if you or someone you love likes, plays or used to play sports, especially hockey and football ( www.ravenscustomkeepsakes.com) .
